i’m back

I had a great vacation. But I know I’m getting old, because I believe I’m more tired now than when I left. Wife and I did a lot of day trips. Googled day trips from Atlanta. I found Highlands, NC.

Interesting place, the average cost of a home in Highlands, NC – $662,000. Reverse Snowbirds have driven the prices crazy. Winter population 6000. Summer population 18000, people come from Charleston, Hilton Head, and Savannah according to their website. It was interesting trying to find something simple for lunch. Went to Buck’s Coffee Shop. You would think from the name it would have normal fare. But NOOOOOO…a sandwich, roasted lamb with asiago cheese bread, with special sauce, (or something like that) $15, and if you want chips….or a drink…we finally found a pizza place that had good old American Pizza (you do know what we eat isn’t Italian?).

Lots of waterfalls. Interesting one that they advertise – Bridal Veil Falls, it’s on the website. Turns out to be a creek running off high rocks no more than 20 feet from the road side. We kinda laughed when we got out of the truck. A lady emerging from her vehicle at the same time said, “We drove four hours to see “THIS?!” Not a spectacular site. The other falls were better but it did take a hike to get to the others.

Anyway, mailbox had 276 emails upon my return. I’ll get to you soon enough. Changing the look of the blog. Screwed up and lost twitter. Brad returns tomorrow, hopefully I can restore. Have I mentioned lately how much I hate technology. Still trying to figure out how to allow comments again.

sorry for the long post but I’ve been away. Church Planting thought for the day. As you organize, think through all your documents. What you print matters a heck of a lot more than what you say!
