After the Excitement
When the music fades
All is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that’s of worth
That will bless your heartÂ
I’ll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You’re looking into my heart
:
I’m coming back to the heart of worhip
And it’s all about You
It’s all about You, Jesus
I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about You
It’s all about You, Jesus
Lindell Cooley “When the Music Fades”
This is one of my favorite worship songs. Ultimately what we do in the church planting world is all about Him. If it isn’t then go find a job running a computer, teaching school, or sales, or whatever it is that you won’t to do, but don’t play around with the Kingdom of God. People’s lives are at stake.
Come to think of it, if you are a believer even those jobs above should be all about Him. Too often we make the divide between sacred (worship/preaching/teaching/praying) and secular (making a living and everything else we do). Ultimately our lives, our jobs, our worship, all that we do should be about Him.
So as the excitement fades and “all is stripped away” what are you doing to make sure the “buzz” is about Jesus. Not your church, not your Easter Egg Drop, not your great sermon, not your great band, what will you do this week to make it all about Jesus. Jesus said, “If I be lifted up, I will draw all men to myself.” Lift up Jesus.
